Hi,
Sometimes in game my thrust attack, which is binded to E key, doesn't work (Yea, I said delay, but actually it doesnt work for more than 2-3 seconds and more. I'm using the "work around" and don't know how bad it can be).
Why is this a bug and not lag/pc problem:
Hints:
This bug happens to me since I first got the game. It might also be a problem with block, but since I don't use it as often.. its hard to decide if its a bug, or it's my fault. You may want to check this one too.

Here is a video of someone who has the same problem
Come on, say something guys. It's too hard to play this beautiful game like this. Help me
I am in the same boat, your video perfectly shows what happens but for me it is all my attack that will stop responding for several seconds. My character just turn around like a weirdo and I die in two hits.
Great game but this bug enrages me so much if it is not fixed in next patch I am not sure I will endure it anymore.
Edit: And strangely my movements are never bugged, I always have full control of my character but yea something is full of shit with the attack detection like you said
Keep in mind that your problem might be related with the ping. Try to do the same - use only browser option to search servers - type "official" in the "Server name", select max ping 70 and choose frontline.
If this is not the case, try to "clear" the queue with the ESC (to enter in menu) and left click anywhere and spam ESC again until you leave the menu.
And yea... this must be fixed, because many of us are getting frustrated because of input lags
Hi! I'm the one in the video and I only binded to a key (rather than mouse wheel/button) so people won't say i'm having a shitty scrollwheel. It doesn't matter which hardware, key, wheel its binded to.

Yeah, that sucks. Hope the devs look into it.
Hi. Thank for the video. I mentioned this thread in the thread from Steam. Lets see if this can get fixed asap
Devs? Someone?
Response from the devs?

interesting, think the devs are already aware of issues re attack inputs - I personally get 'auto' stabs allot (stab bound to default) where it just randomly stabs without me inputting (have tried multiple mice). I've also been getting the same with parry but less frequently, this has only been in the past ~2 weeks.
All I can suggest for above issue would be to try and help troubleshoot. Have you tried verifying game cache? Rebinding? Checking the .ini file for the keybind?
Do you have the "Angle attack after press" option enabled in the controls? This causes your attacks to wait for mouse movement while you hold down the key for your attack, so there could be an issue with the game incorrectly interpreting the stab key as being held down sometimes?
I've noticed I also have some input delay or some actions not being registered at all. Most noticeably when I try to CFTP or feint to cancel an attack. I'm somewhat used to the timings but still the feint does not always work.
I don't have that Angle Attack after press thing. I reinstalled the game, blablabla.
Your issue #1 with the ESC key is definitely a bug and also a problem with the way they designed the menus.
What seems to happen is if your mouse is over the EXIT button, you have to move the mouse away before ESC will do anything. That is very counter-intuitive. ESC should immediately exit any menu on the screen (respawn, character select, etc).
Furthermore, you shouldn't have to exit one menu to get to the other. Pressing M should always bring up the character select screen, whether your are in a menu or not. But if you already have the respawn menu open, M does nothing until you close that menu.
It's overall very counter-intuitive and I find myself mashing ESC often to no avail because of these quirks. It doesn't work the way you'd expect any other menu to work.
Also, I think the number one annoyance in this game for me is pressing attack buttons and not having them do anything. There is no attack queueing in this game as far as I know, you have to get everything just right, and that's part of the reason why it's frustrating. I think this just has to do with the mechanics and timing of the game (git gud). First of all, if you get hit by anything you will flinch and it cancels whatever attack you were doing, not only that, it seems to make your next attack queue up way slower, so if you're trying to get off an attack in between taking blows from an enemy, you're going to have a bad time, it's better to parry and regain some ground.
To make it even worse, it is super hard to read the animations for timing swings. For example, with the Zweihander you can test this easily. Do a parry and then try to queue an attack up after the parry. It is really hard to get the timing just right because after the parry, you have to wait until the ENTIRE animation is done. So it looks like your guy is ready to attack before he really is, because his sword is back down, but there's still a 0.5s of "elbow bob" animation happening there you have to wait out. It's super annoying.
For what it's worth I watched the video and I don't think I've had that problem, it looks like it's just failing to register the inputs. There are times however where I'm spamming attack knowing an attack should happen and nothing is happening, but I just write that off to me not understanding the game, so I'm not sure what it is exactly.
Well, I am over level 50 and I am better than average players for sure. It's not timing or anything like that. Feels like a queue. The bug with the ESC has nothing to do with what you are talking about. When my input get fucked, I hit ESC, then spam left click (or simply click, dunno, cuz its always in the middle of a battle.. :D ALSO IMPORTANT: Even if I don't do anything but spam ESC again.. which at first doesnt work.. it starts working after couple of seconds and the menu is closed and the bug is gone) and it gets fixed. Found this workaround by chance and it can be just the stamina refreshing or dunno what, but what I feel can be the problem is holding Thrust while sprinting. They have to check it out.
Yeah I think it's an issue, I've gone back and forth on it but there seems to be something that causes your input to be ignored. I was giving it the benefit of the doubt and thinking I'm just bad, but who knows. Last night it got really bad to where I wanted to have an on-screen key press thing while I was streaming, so I could go back and review what went wrong. It felt like it was ignoring my inputs sometimes. They should look into it. And once I get this tool I will look into it more as well on my streams. I have an anti-ghosting (nkey rollover) keyboard so it's not that...but maybe an issue with their input method in the engine?
There are other times when the game doesn't register my inputs, like if I'm holding down Shift + W to immediately start running when I respawn, half the time my guy will respawn and not move until I let go of all the keys and try again. Something to do with event based vs polling for the input.
P.S. I just hit level 30 and it was a good "grind". Trying to get me some plumes.
Been in this same boat for about 2-3 weeks now. Playing normal is all but impossible as you can't rely on stab. Rebound my stab key to other keys on mouse and keyboard and still get the same delay. Thought it was my mouse but testing other keys verified that the game is at fault. Testing this on other games I have 0 issue (Sea of Thieves which is another U4 engine using game , CS).
Once I notice the stab input issues I also start to get a spawn bug when dying while mounted on a horse: I have to spectate/re join a team to get back into the game at the very least. I'm using the classic settings atm with no changes to them.
we can look into it
