No voice chat = game is worse

Where is voice chat? I don't want to memorize 50 keyed commands to communicate with my team, plus that kind of interaction is very limited. I have been asking around while playing and guess what? People on public Front line are not using Discord. Public games would be so much better if you could communicate through voice with your team. Any game I've played with voice has been made better by being able to coordinate with my team. As someone new to the game, and the game itself is new, there are also opportunities to connect with other players and try to coordinate play.

Trying to take objectives, deal with people infiltrating your base, etc just work better and make the game superior with voice. I don't feel like I need to hear the other team voice chat and the idea of proximity chat is a little weird to me when the main point is I want to talk to my team.

Obligatory acknowledgement of objections:

"But people say bad things to me!" Mute exists. Moderation sometimes exists. Vote kick exists.
"But I think it ruins the aesthetic of the game" See point number one.
"But this topic has been discussed before and I don't like it." Too bad, it is still a problem for people on public servers who want voice chat

Plz no voice chat. That would make the game ten times worse. Its allready annoying enough to look at the autism of some teammates.I really dont need to hear them brainfarting ontop of what we allready have.

Add it off by default and the option to turn it on for those that want it problem solved.

If you enjoy communicating and coordinating, i think you'd do best to join a clan with a discord.

I'd be fine with specifically proximity chat. A normal voice chat that your entire team can hear is not something i'm interested in.

Proximity chat, but with a big mute button to ignore idiots.

32 random people in a call together doesn't sound pleasant, push to talk needs to be mandatory, mic can only be active for x period of time with a cool down maybe. They could cut the team up in to groups of 3-6 to keep coms under control. but if they ever add 3v3 skrim i would highly recommend a vc option.

Nah I'm good thanks

I admire your desire to encourage teamplay and communication, but its like... giving a kid a magnifying glass to see bugs better up close and expecting there not to be a bunch of burnt bug corpses in the yard a day later.

The voice commands are not that hard XD theres help me, yes, no, attack, retreat, hold here. WTF more else do you need?
VOIP in games have turned people into terrible players who don't know what to do unless someone is shouting orders at them XD

It makes them terrible players? What do you base that on? My understanding is that people learn with experience.

Sure, there will be many people who just use voice to talk shit. They can be muted or kicked/banned if they are too offensive. Some amount of shit talking is fine with me. Keeping chat to just your team limits a lot of the trolling, plus I really like the idea of making push to talk mandatory as well as limiting talking time.

How are players going to learn? I say give them just enough rope to hang themselves and see what they do. Bad analogy, but still. Inclusion is way better than trying to segregate people on the internet. Look at these mass shooters coming from the far corners of the internet. If people called them on their bullshit regularly do you think they would be so extreme?

I don't want to have to mute 20 players every time I join a game. You can ignore a text chat, you can't ignore SOUND in your EAR!

Proximity voice would be hilarious and great.

Read it and it’s still a dumb idea, no offense.

The chat can already be toxic/lame enough to have kids screaming shit like in battle royale game #19373. I don’t want to waste time each game muting idiots, simply because there are a lot of them.

As others said if you want planned and structured tactics, join a clan and use discords etc.

There are 10 teammates or more in your proximity most of the time while you play frontline. It would be pure chaos. There is a reason why 64 or 32 player games like Battlefield do not have voice chat, because its just not manageable most of the time.

The only way i can see this working is if you spawn together with a few friends in the game and the game gives you a way to talk to each other into your group of friends. But why wouldnt you then not just use a voip programm in the background in the first place?

No way would I ever want or use in-game voice chat in a game like this.

Luckily we aren't advocating for forced voice chat
