Firepots are toxic.

Why would you get mad at an opponent dying to one of their own teammates firebombs? That would be hilarious.

Sorrey, but advocating for a game-ruining griefer feature because people can also sometimes put it to "intelligent use" is a recipe for disaster.

In Chivalry when you played offense your MAAs would, without fail, recognize the place your team needed to be as the place that needed constant firepotting. Because that's when defense gathered too. And in Chivalry it was less powerful and much more rare because only MAAs could have them (and only one) and MAA was not a very noob friendly class either.

It's kinda like saying since garlic is good for your blood pressure you should stuff your face with a loaf of garlic bread daily

It's mostly the fact that you can deploy 6 of them at once with the ammo-box, creating a massive zone of death.

Firepots cost 2 points. It seems fair that you can not cross a choke-point for a few seconds since someone just 'wasted' 2 points.

a "wasted" 2 points is picking 113 instead of 131. You're describing the use of 1 point, then you throw the next one to use the next point, then you go to the ammo box to get your points back.

Why are we taking a problem from chivalry and giving players all of the options to exacerbate it even more instead of learning from it?

At least make it so you aren't allowed to wear heavy armor if you are carrying a firepot or something. The logic is the character needs to have big soft pockets to safely house the liquid death... Plus it adds to da balance?

We're addressing firepots soon, looking into ways of reducing spam mostly - 1 firepot thrown at your team is ok, but multiple spammed is annoying. We're testing a limit for amount carried and/or changes to the ammoboxes to make them more of a deliberate tool as opposed to pyromancer yeeting the entire map.

Honestly I think making them not refill from ammo boxes would fix a large part of the problem.

If you burn yourself - will you get kill score like in Chiv ?

I think firepots should set people on fire like in Chivalry instead of a the floor is lava type of use they currently have.

Standing in the fire AOE should deal minor damage. Like 20 total for the whole thing. Oh no, my foot got warm. Maybe more damage if you're not wearing shoes.

Direct hits should tick for for a total of 50 damage and have no AOE effect. All that hot and burny just got soaked into your armor.

Blocking a firepot with a shield could cause the AIE effect, or even better, no damage at all but burns the shield so that it breaks on the next hit.

Boom, balanced. Still has a tactical benefit without ruining the fun, and rewards fire hobbits with good aim.

Nullify firepot damage on spawn points, make it actually set someone on fire if you hit them with it, and make it either jumpable after a second or quickly put out with running so where it minimizes damage and acts still as a applyable ground hazard?

I think that not being able to get more firepots and smokes from the ammo box is a nice solution.
Firstly, you have way less fire on the map since people have to use it more carefully and would have to die and respawn to get more. Secondly, it also allows for people that actually need the ammo to get it (E.g. archers), instead of so called dedicated "fire mages" that run around with 3 firepots, able to block of the enemy spawn for 30 seconds.
